Hi! I am Alex Toccin, I grew up in Winter Park, Florida and went to George Washington University for my Undergraduate. That is where I met Michael! We moved to NYC and worked in the fashion industry for over a decade before starting our own business. Michael and I started our own business in 2016 with a fashion blog, Stylists to a T, focusing on telling women what to wear, how to wear it and where to buy it. After getting feedback from our community, we recognized there was an opportunity to launch Toccin, an apparel line for women that make them feel comfortable, confident and stylish, in 2019.

You started Toccin with the mission to offer cool, luxe staples to make women feel comfortable, confident, and stylish. What’s your trick for achieving this attitude when you get dressed every morning?

As we like to say, when you get yourself styled to a T everyday, it makes a big difference on your attitude. At Toccin, we strive to design knits that we feel are classic and comfortable, classic and timeless suiting, stylish dresses and so much more. We want our customers to be able to build a wardrobe with items that they can wear time and time again and no matter what feel empowered about themselves.

You launched your brand in 2019 and are currently sold in Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and more! What is one thing that really changed the game for your business, that helped you get to where you’re at today?

Michael and I have been in the industry for almost 20 years and we have been fortunate enough to create strong relationships that have helped our business to grow over the past 4 years.

What are 3-5 pieces that everyone should have in their closet?

Everyone should always have staple items that they can style in so many different ways. We created our Core Collection for this reason and are wearing the pieces season after season. The first thing to have in your closet is a black blazer because it can be worn to the office, to dinner or even on the weekend. Next is the pair of denim you are always reaching for, jeans can be worn with anything, dressed up and down! Lastly, a great cardigan. A cardigan can be worn everyday and I am always styling them during these colder months.

How would you style Mestiza & Toccin together to create the perfect fool-proof look?

I would style Mestiza and Toccin together by taking the separates from each brand to create that perfect look. For example, our Core Trouser would look amazing with the Tiramisu Top!

As someone whose style is such a big part of your identity, how does your style appear in other aspects of your life?

Style is not only shown in our lives throughout fashion but we also make sure our home is always styled to a T.

What draws you to the Mestiza brand?

I love how colorful the brand is and the gorgeous prints.

What do you love about the Carmen Mini Dress and how are you styling it?

The Carmen Mini Dress is absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait to style her! I imagine myself wearing a white or gold strappy heel and adding on the Mestiza Ginkgo Earrings to top off the look. The attention to detail makes the dress.
