MESTIZA IN MEXICO
Posted on 05 April 2016
It had been a long, cold and somewhat stressful winter in New York. My trip to Mexico last week couldn't have come at a better time.
I hadn't been to Mexico since senior year spring break in Acapulco. This time was a bit different. I traveled with my soon-to-be in-laws. Tequila was involved...but we were sipping it rather than throwing it back in Jello shot-form.
MESTIZA girls love to travel...especially to places where we can show off our cute and colorful dresses! I wore the Flame Tree Mini Dress to dinner on our last night. It's crafted in a pink and red fully embroidered fabric. I thought it would be perfect to show off my tan (although I didn't get much of one!). Here is a pic of me being silly by the pool.
My fiancé took the pictures...these were the best he could capture of me...I look a little sleepy here...but I promise I wasn't!
We stayed at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba which has an Asian and Mayan vibe. Right up my alley!
I loved that the hotel provided beach cruisers we could ride to the beach or go on a nature trail.
Our villas came with our own pool and hot tub. Our room overlooked a lagoon where an alligator named Sofie lives. Luckily, she didn't pay us a visit.
When we weren't at our villa, you could find us at the beach club swim up bar! Classic Margarita por favor!
