The MNY Spotlight
Mallory, Founder of Mallory with the Flowers
Meet Mallory! Mallory created Mallory with the Flowers, which specializes in creating custom arrangements and hand-tied bouquets for a range of events.
Hey! I’m Mallory, owner and designer behind Mallory with the Flowers. We are a Black & Filipina owned floral studio centered around authenticity, transcendence, and representation, all with a hint of sparkle.
I think growing up in LA can make anyone unique. Here, we are exposed and surrounded by so many different cultures, languages, and art - it’s bound to come through in our creations and personalities.

What motivated me to start my own floral studio was the urge to be more creative and use my hands more. I had been working in marketing for years and was starting to feel the strain of sitting at a desk all day so creating and playing with flowers became my outlet.
The most rewarding part of the job is seeing the reactions. Whether it be at a wedding or delivering flowers to a doorstep, there’s nothing like seeing someone so happy by something you created - I wish I could bottle that feeling!
You can find more of Mallory's arrangements on her Instagram @mallorywiththeflowers, and shop more bouquets like this on her website.
Most recently, my favorite event was Revolve’s Revolve in Bloom activation. Since covid I haven’t been able to do any in person events so being there and interacting with so many people (safely), felt like old times.
My favorite part of creating flowers for someone’s wedding is just knowing how important that day is to them and their families, so I’m super intentional about my designs to give the couple everything they imagined and even more. They only get one big day so I always want to give them all I can.
A beautiful floral arrangement from Sam & Kye's Wedding.
Investing in yourself can be large or small, it’s whatever you do for yourself that will contribute to a larger goal or the bigger picture. I’ve had my studio for about 3 years and I still invest in myself by practicing often, buying flowers just for me, and freelancing for other florists in an effort to learn from more experiences.
It’s SO important to empower women. When you empower women I truly believe you’re empowering yourself at the same time. We all have so much to offer and different things to offer that combining all of our strengths and building together can only make us all better.
I love that Mestiza is Filipina owned. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones owned by women of color.
I chose the Terno dress because I’ve always, always wanted to wear a traditional Filipina dress. It’s so beautiful and elegant, the sleeves made me feel powerful. I just love it so much.
Love Mallory in the terno dress. Stunning! Her floral designs are beautiful. 🌸
