The MNY Spotlight
Meet Alexandra Macon, Founder of Over The Moon
Alexandra Macon is the ultimate wedding expert. From her early days at Vogue.com, covering the Royal Wedding, to launching Over The Moon, where she showcases real weddings on her blog, she's got her finger on the pulse of every trend, fun happening, and style tip for brides and guests alike.
Hi! I am Alexandra Macon. Iām the founder of Over The Moon and a contributing editor of Vogue.com. I love all things weddings and after many years in New York City, I now live in Charleston with my husband and three children.

Ralph Lauren, Interview, and Vogue are all such incredible brands that gave me a deep understanding of what it means to build and maintain a clear brand identity. Working as the managing editor of Vogue.com also gave me a strong grasp of the content space and what is required in terms of quality and frequency. Covering Prince William and Kate Middletonās royal wedding while at Vogue.com is ultimately what enabled me to recognize a void in the market and inspired me to create something that featured aspirational, yet attainable wedding coverage through a fashion lens. And so Over The Moon was born! It started as a content site, and we have since grown beyond that into a curated online shopping destination and a universal registry for all of lifeās celebratory moments.
Ā I love our personalized Tricia Lowenfield pieces like her monogrammed ice bucket. She has so many wonderful things for a wedding registry and for baby. I am also obsessed with our exclusive collaboration with Laboratorio Paravicini. The Italian Views Plate Collection is something to be cherished for generations to come.
Bridesmaid dress:
"The Adelina is definitely a contender for best dressed guest."
Bridal shower dress
"I love to go short or midi length for showers. The Carmen and the Yvette are both fun options."
I am happy to see that the shift toward mix and match bridesmaids dresses is here to stay. It still feels very fresh and modern. I have never been big on trends, so it is always exciting to see couples staying true to their own vision and creating a truly unique experience instead of checking the boxes on what one might expect to see at a wedding.
I predict that styling services for the bride, groom, and wedding party will continue toĀ grow in popularity. As weddings continue to be multi-day events, something like our OTM Styling Services is a great way to ensure everything feels cohesive throughout.
I think brides were really inspired by Sofiaās simple and natural approach to beauty and the idea of quiet luxury. Olivia Culpoās wedding was so classically beautiful and has contributed to a shift toward lush florals. Alex Cooper, of course, wore custom Danielle Frankel, a designer brides continue to gravitate toward.
I love the Torero gown! It is so versatile and you can style it more casually with sandals and a straw bag for a garden party or dress it up with heels and a statement earring for a more formal occasion.
I am always drawn to timeless and I love Mestizaās beautiful prints and classic silhouettes. I also appreciate the brandās commitment to women.
