Your company, Modatrova, sells a curation of styles from emerging designers. What inspired you to launch Modatrova and why is an emphasis on emerging designers important to you?
Modatrova (which translates to fashion finds in Italian) stemmed from a love of fashion and travel — I saw an opportunity to merge the two and create a platform based on exploring and discovering new and emerging brands. That feeling of discovery and connection is what I love the most about working with emerging designers.
What do you look for when choosing designers to feature on Modatrova? We look for designers with an elevated aesthetic, quality product, compelling story, and who aren’t widely distributed.
What is the most exciting and challenging part of owning your own business? Most exciting – forming close relationships with our designers and making an impact on their growth. Most challenging – keeping up with all of the moving parts of a multi-brand marketplace.
You host the annual Modatrova Fashion Soiree in the Hamptons alongside Lisa Frohlich – what is your favorite part of hosting this event?
The feeling of community when our designers and tastemakers come together in person leaves me feeling so fulfilled. It’s been so rewarding to work with Lisa and take our event to new heights year over year.
