What is your approach to throwing an awesome party?

Kristin Doggett: We strive to create a thoughtfully designed authentic experience that represents the couple and wow's the guests.

What trends are you seeing in bridal gown styles?

KD: Sheer, appliqué, feminine

What types of dresses do bridesmaids like to wear?

KD: Many of our bridal parties chose a variety of gowns from various retailers that are mismatched yet work cohesively together. We, of course  love this trend as it allows each bridesmaid to showcase a bit of their personal style.

What fashion trends have popped up in wedding guest attire?

KD: For men, we have seen some really cool unique tuxes in non-traditional colors and for women, we have seen lots of florals and off the shoulder.
What attracts you to Mestiza New York? What are some of your favorite products for brides, bridesmaids and guests?

KD: I love the femininity of Mestiza's designs and am a sucker for ruffles!

What is your favorite wedding destination? What makes it meaningful?

KD: We planned a wedding in Lake Garda, Italy last July and it was pure magic! From the simply prepared yet delicious food, to the incredible views, to the classic Italian villa that served as a backdrop; the energy was contagious and the memories will forever be etched in our memory.

What’s the most outlandish wedding dress code you’ve come across?

KD: Back when we first started in, we planned a speakeasy wedding where all of the guests came dressed as if they were attending a roaring 20’s party. Everyone got really into the theme and guests had a blast!

What projects are you working on now? What’s next for you.

KD: Unfortunately, we are in a bit of a holding pattern due to Covid-19. Our spring weddings have been postponed and there is a lot of uncertainty around spending money. That said, we have many exciting weddings this year that we look forward to executing in the fall. We are excited to be back at one of our favorite venues, Palmetto Bluff, in October, as well as, work with many new event spaces that offer fresh inspiration and ideas.

What's your advice for brides who had to postpone due to COVID-19?

KD: Be flexible and consider less popular dates to ensure your vendors will all be available and you can still create the wedding you had hoped for but at a later date.
