The MNY Spotlight

Meet Stacey Fraser, Founder of Pink Chicken

Introduce yourself!
My name is Stacey Fraser and I am the founder and CEO of Pink Chicken. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia and moved to New York City shortly after college and have been here ever since. Mom to Belle and Sadie, Wife to John and dog-mom to Zucc! I have always had a love for vintage textiles and days spent at the beach are my favorite.

Our collaboration launches in 1 week from today! Why are you excited to collaborate with Mestiza New York?

You know I am a print loving girl, so I was immediately drawn to your beautiful prints and the timelessness and quality of your pieces are so special ā€“Ā something I gravitated towards on a personal level. And then of course when we met the Mestiza team, we truly connected and knew that we could create something amazing for both of our customers.

What was the inspiration for the Clementine Girls Dress?

The Clementine Dress has elements of a few of our flock favorite dressesā€¦ ruffle details, lots of gathering for twirls, and a pretty square neckline that resembles the Womenā€™s Dress.

What sets a Pink Chicken style apart from the competition?
Our original printsā€“ we design all of the patterns in-house, especially taking inspiration from all things vintage. Also, our mix of color and patterns - we take a lot of time and effort to make sure all the details are perfect for our customers. Our fits have a relaxed boho vibe so kids feel comfortable and confident when wearing them!

The Jasmine Midi Dress & Clementine Girls Dress is arriving just in time for mothers day on May 12th! As a mother to two girls, how does the design and versatility resonate with your own personal experiences as a mother?
Love that the styles can be dressed up or down, worn to a more formal occasion with sandals and great accessoriesā€¦ or on a walk to the park or lunch date with your littles. The belt adds a more polished look and then you can remove it for a more boho, comfortable day dress. And we all know, we love a Mommy and Me matching moment at Pink Chicken!

Where do you envision a mom & daughter duo wearing the Jasmine Midi Dress & Clementine Girls Dress?

On a fun Mommy & Me date ā€“ whether thatā€™s a day of shopping, at high-tea or a park date.

Letā€™s play a game of this or thatā€¦
  • Sunday brunch or stroll in the park: Sunday brunch!
  • Jasmine midi dress worn belted or loose: Loose
  • Museum or broadway show: Broadway show! (especially since my younger daughter Sadie has dreams of dancing on a Broadway stage!)
As someone whose style is such a big part of your identity, how does your style appear in other aspects of your life?
The Pink Chicken beachy, boho, vintage aesthetic is my personal style through and through, and can be seen in all aspects of my life ā€“ home dĆ©cor, office dĆ©cor, accessories. I love mixing and matching colors, textures and patterns in a way that feels effortlessly stylish.

What draws you to the Mestiza brand?
Love that it is female founded and run ā€“ just like Pink Chicken! And the colorful floral prints and sophisticated silhouettes for women are gorgeous.

How does wearing your Mestiza piece make you feel?

Confident, bright and ready for a day that is sure to be special!

Stay tuned for our collaboration with Pink Chicken launching on April 9th!
