I spent countless hours at my desk at Goldman and couldn’t help but think what it would be like to be 1. Working for myself that hard 2. In a creative environment. I have always had a passion for architecture and interiors so it was easy for me to decide that the next best step would be to attend Parsons School of Design to study interior architecture. I had the best experience and ultimately ended up in Paris working for the renowned architecture firm Projectiles. I then decided to return to New York City and launch my own design firm.

Paint! I am always a fan of white paint to give your home a quick facelift. Also paint can be used in half bathrooms or on kitchen cabinetry in unique colors to add a pop – I love a black half bathroom!
It’s not easy, but I am fortunate to have some help. I have definitely been working from home more than ever so I can sneak in giving Quinn his bottle etc. It is all about prioritizing as best as possible so I rely heavily on my calendar and my team to keep me honest.
It has always been important to me to give back, but I also believe with every ounce of my being that every child deserves a fair chance at life. UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization, so it was easy for me to pick my organization for this important cause. All Starling candle sales give back to UNICEF, so to marry my passion for UNICEF with my love of home products was such a dream come true!

I love that Mestiza is female-founded by two incredible women and that each garment is so thoughtfully crafted with sustainability in mind.
