The MNY Spotlight
Irina Viktoryivna, Model & Blogger
1. Introduce yourself!
I am a blogger based in Atlanta and South Florida. As well as a mama to a sweet 3-year-old, Versavia. She is the one who inspired me to start blogging.
I also do freelance modeling, event coordinating/planning and I love photography!
2. What characteristics (cultural, personality, etc) make you unique?
I was born in Ukraine and moved to America when I was 5 years old. I grew up speaking 3 languages: Ukrainian, Russian, and English. I believe growing up multilingual helped me connect to more people. Being multilingual, also helped me maintain strong ties with family, culture, and community as I get access to more information and connections.
3. Do you have any new years resolutions?
Yes, my new year resolutions include making time for myself and my hobbies. The main hobby I have been putting off for so long is learning to take professional photos and videos myself.
4. What are you looking forward to in 2021?
After a tough year, I’m ready to get back to normal in 2021. And hoping to grow as a social media influencer.
5. How do you interpret “invest in yourself?” and what are the types of things you do to invest in/ empower yourself?
Investing in yourself means believing that you're capable of more than what you're currently doing for your career. It also requires, at times, foregoing all other activities to
invest in yourself and your business. Spending time doing things to learn, grow, and create value.
Something that empowers me is remembering not to compare myself to others and to run my race. Another person’s success does not equate to your failure. It’s your life, so focus on yourself. Instead of worrying about the competition, focus on what is in front of you. If you worry about the competition, what they are and aren’t doing, then you lose track of the importance of what you’re doing. Empowerment has nothing to do with competition, it has everything to do with the contribution.
Also, loving what you do will empower you as well. To be successful in anything you need to love what you’re doing. Passion trumps failure. Love is the most powerful of all the emotions, which is why truly empowered people work in careers they love.
Another important part of investing in yourself is dressing for success. When you are dressed for success you will most likely succeed!
6. Why is it important to you to empower women?
By empowering women, we can effect change. We feel more confident, we start to believe in our power, and we feel more equipped to take on new challenges.
7. What draws you to the Mestiza brand?
I love that Mestiza was founded by two female entrepreneurs and I love their extraordinary idea of Mestiza brand!
For a woman to feel empowering she must look empowering as well, and usually, that comes with an opulent price tag. Yet, Alessandra Perez-Rubio and Louisa Rechter were able to create something luxurious without the luxurious price tag. Giving a chance for every woman to feel beautiful!
I also love the vintage wanderlust inspiration Mestiza has in its designs. I love classic pieces that can be worn over again!
8. How did you like your Mestiza piece?! Any details on how it fit or made you feel?
I loved my Aquarius Midi Dress because it just sparkles and calls for attention.
This gorgeous sequined midi dress is the perfect addition to any wardrobe, featuring a flattering double ruffle at the hem, a side zipper for ease, stretch for comfort, and adjustable straps so you can get that perfect fit!
My favorite part of it is the fit and how light it is on. This is a piece that makes one feel good and confident!
9. Please share an inspirational tip to someone looking to follow your footsteps.
Be yourself, don't overthink, and dream big.
And when you have a dream don't procrastinate, take control, and live your dream!
