This weekly letter is in dedication to my team. 

Both Alessandra and I took a step back this week and said “wow.” These women are crushing it. 

I’ve been told, as an entrepreneur, it is often challenging to find people to work for you who are just as passionate as you. I have been lucky enough to say that I am blown away by the dedication and gumption of our team.  Every day, they bring their A-game with thought-provoking new concepts, new methods of execution, inspiring ideas, all the while having perfect formatting.   

When deciding what styles to put out into the world, from a business and creative standpoint, the process can be daunting. In the early days of Mestiza, Alessandra and I would release product with no real data or anyone to guide us.  I believe that the success we have found today has been through now having some history under our belt, but also by better balancing our gut feelings with the diversity of thought and research. Each team member has their own superpower that has been awarded to them through their unique experiences and talents. They each bring passion, critical thinking and humility- they admit what they don’t know, research it, and come back with a conclusion. 

Each style that we put out is thoroughly vetted through our small but mighty team, sprinkled with our own magic to make the product even more special, inclusive and inspiring.
