Yesterday we shot the fall 2021 collection in a photo studio in Williamsburg and this joy was not something only felt by me, but by the entire Mestiza team. It was the first time we got to work together in person since the start of the pandemic, and there couldn’t be a more perfect way to kick everything off then seeing it all come to life.  It was wonderful, how normal everything felt, and how ready and motivated we all were to work. For the past year, we have all been tethered to our respective homes, allowed to only interact with each other through zoom, and staring each other’s faces on a computer screen.  This is why our shoot yesterday meant so much more. Because while grueling, it was fun, and it ultimately made us all feel hopeful for a more normal connected future.
