The MNY Spotlight
Meet Julia Ricketti, Boston-based Influencer & Wilhelmina Model
My content journey began when I moved from Ohio to Boston 3.5 years ago. Making the move alongside my two best friends, we started sharing our experiences and new adventures living on the east coast and, always being passionate about fashion, I began posting “OOTD” (outfit of the day) videos alongside these other moments. To my surprise, people really connected with the outfit videos I was making, which encouraged me to lean into it more. Since then, I’ve been sharing my life in Boston and my outfits ever since!

Before getting the opportunity to spend time on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, the foundation of my style has been deeply rooted in my mom’s influence. She was born and spent part of her life in New England, and raised us in the timeless, “classic” style the area is known for. Since making the move and getting to spend more time on both islands, I’ve felt as though I’ve been able to build off of that foundation through my own lens and experiences, gaining an even stronger appreciation for the clean, polished, and understated look.
On a lucky sunny day, there’s nothing better than having a slow morning grabbing breakfast and a coffee (my favorite, Born & Bread). There’s no question I’ll need to get my toes in the sand and the ocean so we’ll make our way over to Jettie’s Beach and Sandbar for drinks and lunch. Galley Beach for a breathtaking sunset cocktail hour later in the day. Dinner at Nautilus or Proprietors. An overcast day calls for shopping around town (my favorite store: For Now) and Cisco Brewery.
While my full-time and part-time jobs are so vastly different, both motivate and fulfill different needs for me. At the end of the day, I feel extremely grateful to do both, and am lucky to have found a balance that allows me to pursue both avenues!
Firstly, THANK YOU! That truly means so much to me. I’d say my style icon(s) are a blend between CBK (Carolyn Bessette Kennedy) and Ralph Lauren. I really admire the classic understated look of CBK paired with the elegant yet, almost rugged style RL embodies.
As I’ve gotten older, I truly believe that taking care of yourself is essential to becoming the best version of yourself both inside and out. It’s really the simple habits we hear daily - getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, trying to minimize stress (to the best of our ability) that build a solid foundation.
On the days I’m not feeling my best, I do think fashion can be such a powerful tool. I go back to the basics on these days — what pieces of clothing can I count on that I know will make me feel the most confident? It really helps simplify things for me. Also, as someone that works 100% remotely, getting dressed and ready for the day is a game changer.
This is a really good question. For beauty, I think the idea of “less is more” will continue to remain a big trend. Finding what products work for YOU and not just what someone is posting about online.
As for fashion, I think the stylings of Ralph Lauren will continue to play a significant role in the industry, especially because of the 2024 Olympics. Thinking lots of denim and lots of belts — classic yet rugged (two of my personal favorites).

I really love the little things in life. Starting off the day with a workout that I’m actually looking forward to and setting an intention for the rest of the day. Having my morning cup of coffee out of my favorite handmade ceramic cup while enjoying breakfast (Cocojune yogurt with berries & honey). Lighting my favorite incense and working in my office that I’ve thoughtfully curated to be an area I’m happy to be in. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to make the day special for yourself — recognizing the ways you’re able to do that can be extremely fulfilling.
I was immediately drawn to Mestiza because it perfectly balances timeless elegance with magical statement pieces. Their ability to blend a classic design with unique details captivated me from the start.
