Spend the Holidays with Grandma Gail and Kim Murstein
Where are you spending the holidays this fall/winter?
We’ll be splitting time between Palm Beach and New York. Both places have such a different vibe for the holidays—NYC is magical with all the lights and festivities, while Palm Beach is perfect for a more relaxed and sunny holiday season.
What are your favorite things to do with Grandma Gail and family in NYC this season?
We love visiting the holiday market at Union Square, seeing the Rockefeller tree, and of course, catching a Broadway show. Spending time in the kitchen together, and creating holiday looks for all our holiday parties is always fun! And nothing beats walking around the city to see all the window displays with Grandma Gail narrating how it all used to look in her day.
Can you share some of your favorite holiday traditions that have been passed down from Grandma Gail?
Being together with the family is always what sticks out - regardless of where we are!
Grandma Gail, what are some of your most cherished memories that this time of year reminds you of?
This time of year always brings back memories of being surrounded by family, especially when the kids were little. Another special memory is traveling to NYC growing up to see the lights and decorations—it felt magical every time, no matter how many years we did it. Those simple moments together are what I cherish most.
Do you or Grandma Gail have any signature dishes that you make every year?
Grandma Gail has a tradition of making her famous sweet potato soufflé for Thanksgiving and latkes for Hannukah.
Kim: The Elmarie Mini Dress is perfect for a festive night out in Palm Beach. I’m styling it with strappy heels, pearl hearings a statement clutch for holiday dinners.
