The MNY Spotlight
Years to Remember
FROM THE DESK OF LOUISA RECHTER TAKACS
My husband’s grandmother sends an email every first of the year reminding the entire family to write the top 10 memories of the past year in a journal she gifted everyone years ago.
I remember finding my husband’s (then boyfriend’s) journal, when we were moving apartments- a humble little notebook with a letter in old school penmanship from his grandmother, encouraging him to write. I noticed the pages were empty so, without letting him know, I began recording memories.
He later discovered that I had been keeping record of all our favorite times together since 2013, when we first met. He gave a little smirk as he read through the highlights. I knew he appreciated it :)
Rob’s grandmother is now my children’s great grandmother. She is a true romantic, full of stories, a conversation is never dull! She is an inspiration to us all.
Here’s to a memorable 2021 and a reminder to share your memories with your loved ones.
