Bridesmaids in Bloom: A Pink Wisteria Wedding in Bermuda with Laura Moore Orlando

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your personal style?

I grew up in Vermont, so even as my style has evolved over the years, I’ve always stayed rooted in that easygoing feel and a love for comfort. I've never really dressed to please others—I've always worn what I felt like wearing. Looking back, some of those choices weren’t exactly stylish, but they reflect the different phases and moods I’ve gone through in life.

Share the story of your wedding! When and where was it, and what inspired your wedding style and overall bridal aesthetic?

We got married in Bermuda—my happy place. The moment I introduced Austin to the pink sand and the amazing party atmosphere, he fell in love with it just like I did years ago. From the beginning, we knew we wanted a small, relaxed wedding surrounded by our closest friends and family. Austin has a great eye for fashion, and I actually brought many of his ideas to life. Our overall aesthetic was colorful, playful, and full of meaningful little details—Easter eggs that reflected who we are and the life we've built together. Our top priority was ensuring that our guests had a great vacation while also appreciating the little ideas we had collaborated on for so long truly representing  us.

Why did you choose the Adelina Gown for your bridesmaids, and what made this style stand out to you?

One of my bridesmaids, @katierameyer, actually discovered this dress before I even found my own—and the moment I saw it, I knew it was exactly what I wanted for them. I wanted my girls to wear something that made a statement, and I honestly didn’t mind if their dresses were cooler than mine. To me, bridesmaids deserve to feel celebrated and pampered too—it’s their day in so many ways. What really sold me was the back of the dress, and once you generously sent us a sample, we were blown away by the quality. The fabric, the fit—it looked even better in person than it did in the photos.

How did your bridesmaids feel in the Adelina Gown on your wedding day? Any thoughts on the colors, fabrics, or prints?

When I asked for their thoughts, the words that came up were comfortable, elegant, and chic—which is everything I could’ve hoped for as a bride. I truly believe it’s a dress they’ll be able to wear again. No one complained it was too hot which was something I wanted to be conscientious of getting married in a tropical climate, and they all found comfort in having pockets. It even fit my sister, who gave birth to my goddaughter just a month later (!!!), which I was especially grateful for.

What was your favorite moment with your bridesmaids wearing the Adelina Gown?

The St. Peter’s church is one of my favorite Bermuda landmarks and a part of the story of the Unfinished Church where we had our ceremony so I knew I wanted a photo of all of the girls walking up the steps to the church. Being there with them after the ceremony was a moment I had imagined for so long it was very special.

How did the Adelina Gown complement your wedding theme and overall bridal vision?

I think the pink wisteria colors and the floral pattern fit our aesthetic perfectly. The high bow on the back complemented my dress which was a low back and the one shoulder on my Viktor & Rolf dress had a very similar bow. The way the Adelina Gown is made is just genius- it falls perfectly.

Bachelorette party:

Dominique Flower Top with deep blue Taylor Pant

Rehearsal dinner:

Georgiana Gown

Looking ahead as a wedding guest, which Mestiza dresses would you choose for:

Formal occasions:

Celestina Sequin Dress

Cocktail events:

Copacabana Halter Midi Dress!!!!

Black-tie weddings:

Adelina Gown in Black Gold (because now I need to try…)

What advice would you give other brides when selecting bridesmaids dresses or bridal gowns that you wish you had known?

I wish I had been more realistic with tailoring “floor length”. If you’re going to be walking outside it’s inevitable the bottom of the dresses will get dirty, just tailor a bit higher than your vision and it will still be great. If I could do it again, I would have shortened my dress to a mini for the reception to change up the look.

What do you love most about Mestiza New York and our collections?

Mestiza is so unique, but always very chic and elegant. I think the brand always keeps up with what’s trending while also making it your own. I don’t like when things look the same, I always want to put  my own spin on my style- with Mestiza you always stand out.
